Mind OC, the non-profit backbone of the Be Well OC movement, has been approved for $3 million from the ACEs Aware grant program developed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) in partnership with the Office of the California Surgeon General (CA-OSG).
The project runs through June 30, 2022 and aims to prevent adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), promote ACE screening in children and adults, improve treatment of ACE-Associated Health Conditions (AAHCs), and prevent the intergenerational transmission of toxic stress.
ACEs Aware Mission
To change and save lives by helping providers understand the importance of screening for Adverse Childhood Experiences and training providers to respond with trauma-informed care to mitigate the health impacts of toxic stress.
